Precautions for using masking tape

Masking tape can be divided into three different grades according to different temperatures: normal temperature masking tape, medium temperature masking tape and high temperature masking tape. This product is widely used in precision electroplating to cover parts not to be electroplated; such as: powder spraying, painting, electroplating, shielding, circuit board (PCB) processing, electrical product insulation, transformers, coils, etc. The following points should be paid attention to when using masking tape: 1. Before using masking tape, the type of tape should be reasonably selected. Reason: There are many types of masking tape, and each type of product has its own characteristics and uses. 2. Do not use masking tapes of different types or different adhesive strengths together. Because each type of product has its own characteristics, many unforeseen failures will occur after mixed use. 3. Pay attention to the tension of the masking tape, and do not let the product bend or twist. Reason: If the masking tape does not have a certain tension, it is prone to failures such as poor adhesion. 4. The surface of the adhered material should be kept dry and clean, otherwise it will affect the sticking effect of the tape. 5. Apply a certain force to make the tape and the adherend get a good combination. 6. Different environments and different substrate adhesives, the same adhesive tape will also show different pasting effects.
